Instead of imagining the awesome technological revolution that is blockchain, try imagining how it will change your life. No one knows the answer to this question, but it is possible to speculate on what might be possible. Imagine traveling by plane using Ether (cryptocurrency) as currency. You win $500 worth of Ether playing poker against another high roller sitting next to you on the plane. Everyone in the 5 rows smiles because they probably won free money too! There was no safe way for these two to transfer their digital assets without using an intermediary or reverting to physical cash/notes, which are difficult and expensive to process remotely.
Using Ether or any cryptocurrency for that matter eliminates the need to trust each other in terms of sticking to what is called "the deal". The employee data blockchain acts as an intermediary by recording these transactions on a public ledger that anyone can access. This enables transparency and immutability (i.e. recorded data cannot be erased), two essential characteristics for establishing trust between parties when transacting digital assets. As you read in my previous blog, transfer fees are nil compared to cross-border bank transfers where fiat currency is used. Why? Because there are no intermediaries involved!
People are starting to take crypto more seriously the moment they find out how cheap it is to use. make a start People are ready to start using different cryptocurrencies that they believe in. For example, some people would prefer to use Ether instead of Bitcoin because it is more efficient and cheaper because it enables smart contracts. Some people would start subscribing to a religion whose leader offers their religion token as part of your baptism! After all, these tokens are rare, which means that once you have them, what could stop you from starting to trade or sell them?
